Twelve robots were deployed at the Wuchang field hospital as an effort to help the the medical staff and reduce further infections. It’s been reported than more than 3,000 medical staff has been infected by the virus since the nCOVID-19 outbreak.
These robots are able to carry out tasks such as escorting patients, taking their temperature, and even disposing of waste. The robots are also powered via a 5G connection, so doctors can assess patients remotely.
The project comes from a collaboration between Hubei officials and the Chinese Academy of Sciences., with CloudMinds donating the robots.
CloudMinds develops open end-to-end cloud robot systems, where people can access and control robots via their smartphones. Not only this but their robots can be set to perform a number of tasks without supervision and have navigation technology to move around and avoid obstacles automatically.
